June to August, part 2

The last half of the album was supposed to be finished in Leeds before the month was out. That week’s trip was cancelled. Too much moving on the project. Emy’s note was careful. This part was not a battle with the industry. It was roots. “She was there while I was. She knew. She didn’t blink.”

Fans showed both faces. Some danced in contests and won. Some ordered hoodies. Others had planned to frame merch or lift stickers off the trolley. Technology had been down. They stayed.

Starlet X Waves named a producer, Leo, from 1 September. A video was still shooting. Two album songs were previewed; one would stay back until the full set.

On 31 August, Turn With It made the next round of the Timbaland Global Talent Search. Top twenty. That was the fact September inherited.

August, in one line: the homecoming slipped, the station got a producer, and the contest finally put their name on a list.
